Jordan Pinsker, MD
Jordan Pinsker, MD, has served as the vice president and medical director for Tandem Diabetes Care since April 2021. A renowned pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. Pinsker provides oversight for our clinical work, while assisting in the design and study of automated insulin delivery systems.
“We’re at a fascinating crossroads in diabetes research because there is synergy between helping people with diabetes engage with automated technology, while still having that strong personal bond with patients and families,” Dr. Pinsker said. “It’s a rewarding experience to work with patients and their families in the adoption of this new technology. Now I get to share all of my clinical experience with the development teams at Tandem Diabetes Care.”
Originally from New York, Dr. Pinsker served as a physician in the United States Army and the California Army National Guard for more than 20 years. Before joining Tandem, he served as the director of artificial pancreas technology at the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute in Santa Barbara, Calif., and was the lead investigator in numerous clinical trials — including pivotal studies on Control-IQ® technology and Basal-IQ® technology. Prior to that, he was the chief of pediatric endocrinology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.
“Our core values include helping patients and their families reduce the burden of diabetes care,” Dr. Pinsker said. “Automation improves quality of life, and I’m fortunate enough to be in the unique position to help move that technology and the field forward. The most enjoyable part for me is the integration of those two worlds and seeing the positive impact we can have on people living with diabetes.”
Dr. Pinsker is board certified in Clinical Informatics, Pediatric Endocrinology, and General Pediatrics. You can read about many of his studies on his Google Scholar page here.
